He is survived by: his children, Donald Freking (Cindy), Georgia, John Freking (Hong-Yan), Luoyang, Teresa Freking, Mary Beth Eggers (Arthur) and Laurie Freking; his grandchildren, Walter Eggers, Benjamin Freking, Candice Latini (Matt) and Scout; his sister Liz Merritt; and his sisters-in-law, Melitta Freking and Nancy Cahill.

Memorials may be made to Friends of St. Bridget's, Columbus Club, or St. Paul the Apostle.
