He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Aloysius and Clara Agnes Schebler (Otten); his siblings, Marie Brus, John, Joseph, Richard, Robert, Jerome and Charles Schebler; his parents-in-law, Raymond and Mildred Otto; and his brother-in-law Jack Otto.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta Louise "Bobbie" Otto; his friends, John and Helen Morrissey; his sons, Tony Schebler (Julie) and Bill Schebler (Lisa); his grandchildren, Michelle Polzer (Joe), Michael Schebler (Ambria), Nick Schebler (Loren) and Tom Schebler (Chloe); his great grandchildren, Johnathan, Colten, Rachel, Harper, Isla, Tilly and Henry Edward; his brother Tom Schebler; and his nieces and nephews, Nancy, Richard and Ed's.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home (614 Main St, Davenport, IA 52803). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (1923 Fillmore St, Davenport, IA 52804). A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at the Mt. Cavalry Cemetery (804 E 39th St, Davenport, IA 52807).
Memorials may be made to Empowering Abilities (formerly Handicapped Development Center), Holy Family Parish, or Assumption High School.
