He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Gaines and Ruth Gaines (Moeller); his stepfather Glenn Thomas; and his brother Bill Gaines. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Ryan-Kistenmacher; his stepchildren, Ryan Kistenmacher and Lindsey Miller (Josh); his brother Ken Gaines (Sara); and his nephews, Gus and Jess.
