He was predeceased by : his parents, Austrian and Emily Kastner (Biederman); his wife Janice; and his siblings, Alfred, Carl, Paul, Ernest, Helen, Francis and Herman.

He is survived by : his children, Julie Kastner, Michael Kastner (Nadine) and Paul Kastner (Michelle); and his grandchildren, Joe, Ian, Emily and Lerin.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church (4105 N Division St, Davenport, IA 52806). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
