He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterlon Matheny and Anita Matheny (Miles); and his brother Mike Matheny. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Barrick; his children, Kiefer Matheny (Jenna Berg) of Geneseo, IL, Tarah Campagna (Vinnie) of Milwaukee, WI. and Shanna Oyer (Matt) of Tremont, IL; his grandchildren, Emma Oyer, Jack Oyer, Ruby Oyer, Joey Campagna and Jordan Campagna; and his siblings, Tom Matheny of Big Sandy, TN, Stan Matheny (Debbie) of Peoria and Gloria Flynn.
