It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria A. Miller-Mess of Davenport, Iowa, who passed away on April 5, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilhelm Launer and Maria Launer (Scheffold); her former husband Army Serviceman Edward H. Miller; and her siblings, Alfred Launer and Gretal Staudenraus (Franz).

She is survived by: her husband Elmer Mess; her children, Henry Miller (David), Lori Ann Dudley (Steve), Heidi Mussack (Dan) and Trudy Ecoffey; her grandchildren, Lacee Gregg, Quentin Dudley (Kati), Anneli Dudley (Joe), Dickey, Ellen Dudley, William Dudley (Liz Gaston), Allison Petersen (Jonathan), Abby Mussack (Matt Riani), Echo and Jade (Jules Ecoffey); her sister-in-law Elsie Launer; her niece Anita Vieten (Klaus); and her nephew Franz Launer (Kelley).
