He was predeceased by: his parents, Klare McCutcheon and Etta McCutcheon (Finch); his wife Lois Grabe; and his children, Carol Anne Johnson and Richard "Dick" McCutcheon.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Luke Johnson (Kristen) of Arizona, Jake Johnson (Jacie) of Washington State, April Gravert (Nathan) of Camanche and Dustin McCutcheon (Athena) of Pocahontas, Iowa; and his brother William "Bill" McCutcheon of Davenport. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
