He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Gardner and Dorothy "Dody" Gardner (Thomas); his wife Susan "Susie" Bales; his daughters, Kate Panfil (Brett) and Erin Miller (Adam); his grandchildren, Charlotte, Christian and Collin; and his brothers, Paul Gardner (Rebecca) and Peter Gardner (Pam).

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
