He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Nicholas "Nick" Pitz and Roseann Pitz; his in-laws, Leo and Dorothy Waters; his brother Tom Pitz; and his brother-in-law Bill Waters.
He is survived by: his siblings, Nick and Heaven; his children, Barbara and Nick; his wife Barbara Waters; his children, Megan (Jake Viano), Andrew (Elora) and Nathan Gropp; his siblings, Mike Pitz (Faye), John Pitz (Jill), Janeann Pitz (Reinhard Pollach) and Marylynne Pitz (Mark Weitzman); and his sister-in-law Judy Waters. He is also survived by several cousins and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to River Bend Food Bank, Salvation Army (local branch), Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, or the German American Heritage Center.
