He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Tappendorf and Eileen Tappendorf (Lane); his children, Valerie Ryan (Chris) of LeClaire and Robert E. Tappendorf (Deborah) of Davenport; his grandchildren, Ryan Tappendorf (Tracy), Kateeya Brown (Zack), C. Matthew Ryan (Stephanie), Rebecca Tope (Mike), Trent Emry (Ashley), Alex Tappendorf, Rachel Emry-Rowen (Clay) and Katie Caudill (Blake); his great grandchildren, Alijah, Lillianna Brown, Kaleb, Kolton, Kamrie Tappendorf, Hayden, Owen Ryan, Trent Jr., Anderson Emry, Mia and Finnegan Tope; his brother Jerry Tappendorf (Sally); his wife Maddy; and his sister Janet Grimes.
