He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Brooks and Rozari Brooks Sr. (Schultz); his daughter Roseanna Pitzer; and his siblings, Ben Brooks and Judy Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Lease; his children, Monica Okie and John Thomas Brooks of Brunswick, GA; his granddaughters, Philadelphia Brooks-Morris, Rozari Brooks and Savannah Brooks; his great grandchildren, Brookelynn, Cameron, Millie, Finnley and Georgia; his siblings, John Brooks of Lancaster, CA, Veronica Brooks of Davenport and Richard Brooks of New York; and his goddaughters, Carmarita Brooks-Modler and Sierra Brooks-Graham. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
