He was predeceased by : his former life partners, Frances Deniston and Carol Coomer; and his siblings, Lyle, Ron and Connie.

He is survived by : his children, Nicki Paper, Scott Paper, Jeff Paper and Pam McCaughey; his stepdaughters, Stacey Struck and Kristen Bakken; and his brother Doug. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
