He is survived by: his wife Marlene Gilbert; his children, Gene Westphal (Deb) of Davenport and Darcy Thomas (Brian) of Davenport; his grandchildren, Mike Swarts, Mikki Englund (Travis), Dustin Westphal, Austin Thomas and Sarah Thomas; his sister Mary Lincoln of Walcott; and his sister-in-law Vi Westphal of Eldridge. He is also survived by three great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
