He was predeceased by: his parents, Heit Behr and Sophia Behr (Buus); his former wife Helen Loreen Johnston of Onawa, IA; his wife Mary of Charlotte, IA.; and his brothers, Merlyn and Vernon.

He is survived by: his children, Nolan (Jeannie), Mitch and Linda Flynn; his grandchildren, Shannon, Jerome Jr., Garrett, Colton, Braden, Noelle and Josh; his great grandchild Rory; and his sister-in-law Joyce Eberhart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or QC Morning Optimist Club.
