He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Karen; his children, Joshua, Megan and Tatum; his sisters, Peggy Trosper (Doug) of Tuscaloosa and Kelly Norman of North Liberty, Iowa; his uncle Mike; and his aunt Betty McCollum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Relapsing Polychondritis Foundation or PRISMS, an organization in support of those with Smith-Magenis Syndrome.
