It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Scot G. Nelson Sr. of Davenport, Iowa, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Nelson and Jack Nelson; his brother Kim Nelson; his parents-in-law, Anne and Pete Ramirez; and his siblings-in-law, Marty Ramirez and Christine Cossin.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie Ramirez; his daughter Laura; his grandchildren, Margaret, Catie and Connor Kelly; his son Scot Nelson, Jr.; and his siblings, Mark Nelson, Todd Nelson (Sharon) and Krystin Scholten (Dan).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home (614 Main St, Davenport, IA 52803). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Cathedral (422 E 10th St, Davenport, IA 52803).
Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
