He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Jean Marie Kavanaugh (Welzenbach); his wife Sonya Ann Brookstra; his son James Kavanaugh; his stepdaughter Stevi Schaapveld of Davenport; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Brookstra Kavanaugh and Allison Jean Brookstra Kavanaugh; his father Gerald Kavanaugh of Davenport; and his siblings, Erin Smith (Marvin) of Davenport, Kathleen Kilfoy (Pat) of Davenport, Colleen Kahley (Kevin) of Davenport and Kevin.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church (4105 N Division St, Davenport, IA 52806). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (804 E 39th St, Davenport, IA 52807).
