He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Matthews and Catherine Matthews (Stropes); his wife Rebecca Glovik; and his siblings, Donnie, Dick Matthews, Joyce Ricklefs and Shirley Gayman.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Matthews (Deanna) of Bettendorf, IA, Michael of Davenport, IA and Connie Klotz (Gregg) of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Cayla Farris, Lindsay Scalora, Amanda Matthews, Scott Klotz and Athena Coetzee; and his great grandchildren, Colten, Calianna, Serenity and Kelsey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
