He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Karl Harksen and Annemale Harksen (Gutzeit); his wife Donna Harksen of Davenport, IA; his children, Erich Harksen (Erin) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Faith Leatherman (Tony) of Davenport, IA; and his grandchildren, Paige, Holden Harksen and Tate Leatherman.

Memorials may be made in his honor to First Baptist Church Davenport.
