He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund H. Carroll and Nancy Carroll (Ruhl). He is survived by: his pet Henry; his wife Elizabeth Darrow Carroll; his children, Kristin Carroll, Thomas Ruhl Carroll Jr., Sara Braun (Ryan), Carrie Seyb (Adam), Cassandra Berneking (Adam) and Courtney Johnson; his siblings, Anne Vandenberg (Byron), Catherine Thompson (Tim), Ed Carroll (Molly), Margaret Carroll, Liz Schmid (Mike), Chuck Carroll (Carrie) and John Carroll (Marnie); and his grandchildren, Charles, Harvey, George, Catherine Seyb, Harper, Eloise and Lilah Berneking.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Women's Choice Center of Bettendorf, Iowa, or the St. John Vianney New School Fund (memo line of "1 Faith-Family-Future").
