He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Carlson and Minnie Carlson; his wife DeLores Stoefen; his daughter Lori Carlson; and his siblings, Glenn Carlson, Vern Carlson and Edna Murphy.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie McGregory (Mike) of Eldridge, Iowa. and Craig Carlson (Julie) of Eldridge, Iowa.; his great grandchildren, Jordan Bayles, Jake Bayles, Cole Bayles, Lane Von Muenster, Lauren Von Muenster and Sam Von Muenster; and his brothers-in-law, Gary Stoefen (Brenda) and Mike Stoefen (Judy).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in William's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the family to be dispersed over several charities.
