He was predeceased by: his brother Austin Trevor Binns; and his grandfathers, Larry Kerr and John Snyder. He is survived by: his parents, Christopher Binns of Moline and Anita Kerr-Binns; his stepfather Kurtis Gerling of Lone Tree; his grandmothers, Barb Kerr of Wapello and Rose Snyder (John Weiland) of Davenport; his stepsiblings, Jordan Gerling (Abbey) and Stacy Messinger (Nick); his cousin Laura Havel (Dave DeBauche); his children, Nicole, Morgan, Danielle, Caleb and John Kerr (Julia); his grandchild Jered; his daughter Jennifer Burris (Wayne); his grandchildren, Andrew Oberlander (Sally) and Amber Ward; his children, Sara Snyder (Trish) and Tim Snyder (Heather); Adeline and Kip. He is also survived by aunts, uncles.

A memorial has been established for the family in Zack's name.
