He was predeceased by: his parents, James Muir and Violet Muir (Randolph); his wife Joan Anderson; and his siblings, James "Earl" Muir, Florence Klingler and John "Jack" Muir.
He is survived by: his children, John Muir (Brenda) of Jefferson, Ken Muir of Rippey, Sara Jorgensen (Jim) of Mt. Vernon and Bobby Muir (Dorothy) of Rippey; and his sisters, Bonnie Davis of Odell and Helen Spafford of Saunemin, Illinois. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation in Bob's name.
