He was predeceased by: his mother Regina Boyd (Lydon); and his brothers, Jim and Mike Boyd. He is survived by: his father Daniel Leander (Boyd); his wife Marilyn Boyd; his son Johnny Boyd (Shelby); his grandchildren, Johnny, Charlie and Mia Boyd; and his sisters, Sandy Alitz (Mike), Cathy Chambers (Rodger), Linda Kurz, Mary Long, Patty Starmer and Joanie Putzke. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages people to make a memorial contribution to the Iowa Veterans Foundation.
