She is survived by: her children, Mary Payne (Ed), Jolene Frankhouse (John), Keith Hemesath (Linda), Martha Kane (Bob) and Brad Hemesath (Trisha); her grandchildren, Whitney Lents (Kenny), Ross Payne (Anna), Mariah McCabe (Morgan), Andrew Frankhouse (YiChi Lei), Tyler Frankhouse (Gillian Randall), Mitchel Hemesath (Krista), Adam Hemesath (Hannah), Ryan Hemesath, Kilah Watson (Joel), Garret Hemesath (Hannah), Lucas Kane, Kyle Kane, Anna Spencer (Ian), Cade Hemesath (Addison), Cael Hemesath (Ashlynn Wiley) and Elayna Hemesath (Nash Arkulari); her great grandchildren, Keaton, Brody Lents, Jackson, Leah, Hailey Payne, Sidney, Cora, Liddy McCabe, Leonard Frankhouse, Aiden, Audrey Hemesath, Kasen, Kayden, Kaleb Smith, Alexis, Natalie, Paige, Kallie, Linley Hemesath, Nellie, Hazel, Baby Watson and Graham Hemesath; and her siblings-in-law, Rosemary Whitehorn, Suzanne Hemesath, Eleanor Spielbauer and Fred Hemesath (Frances).
Visitation was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Helms Funeral Home (306 E Water St, Decorah, IA 52101). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Benedict Catholic Church (307 W Main St, Decorah, IA 52101).
Memorials may be made to the family, who will donate to Alice's favorite causes.
