She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Holthaus and Hilda Holthaus (Bohr); her son Cory; her siblings, Adrian, Willard, Ken, Ron Holthaus, Inez Schmitt, Judy Bullerman, Jane Blair and Pat Seiler; her siblings-in-law, Mary Ellen Holthaus (Willard) and Douglas Blair (Jane); her niece Teresa Holthaus; and her nephew Philip Blair.
She is survived by: her daughters, Amy Ashbacher (Brent) of Holmen, WI, Kelly Matuszewski (Cheryl) of Eagle River, WI and Erin Chambers of Decorah, IA.; her grandchildren, Dalton, Carsen Sande, Karinna, Devin Ashbacher, Alexus Dvorak, Mariah, Mallory and Camren Darling; her great grandchildren, Owen Meyer and Bryer Marvets; her siblings, David Holthaus and Maxine Klotzbach (Karl); and her siblings-in-law, Norb Bullerman, Dan Schmitt, Sue Holthaus, Elaine Holthaus and Lorraine Holthaus. She is also survived by her kids, grandkids, siblings, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Helms Funeral Home (306 E Water St, Decorah, IA 52101). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Benedict Catholic Church (307 W Main St, Decorah, IA 52101).
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers plants. Memorials may be made to UW Health Transplant Center or Vanderbilt Familial Pulmonary Fibrosis Research in Nashville, TN or mailed to Helms Funeral Homes, 306 E. Water Street, Decorah, IA 52101.
