He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Macal and Myrtle Macal (Syvertsgaard); and his wife Shirley Macal. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Kloubec (Chad) of Fairfax, IA and Dean Macal (Melissa) of Rosemount, MN.; his sister Jeanette Williams; his in-laws, Elzie and Ruby Christine Wray (Boyd); and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Macal, Fran Wray, Linda McManus, Verla Boyles (Larry) and Lee Zemp.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Helms Funeral Home (306 E Water St, Decorah, IA 52101). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
