With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Geneva Halverson of Decorah, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 17, 2024 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Thompson and Leona Thompson (Sorenson); her husband Roland Halverson (Ronald); and her children, Douglas Halverson and Judith Hovey.

She is survived by : her children, Boyd Halverson (Jan) and Brenda Heading; her son-in-law Gary Hovey; her grandchildren, Bill Headington, Becky Courtney, Beth Headington, Brent Halverson (Jill), Dana Carolan (Mark), Joel Halverson (Cyndi), Chad Halverson (Tracy), Ryan Halverson and Tim Hovey (Jessi); her brother-in-law Dale Halverson; her grandchildren, Richelle Halverson, Michelle Halverson and Bradley Halverson; her great grandchild Rhett Hovey; her brother LaMoyne; her sister-in-law Edna Thompson; her parents-in-law, Oscar and Nora Halverson; her sister-in-law Virginia Halverson; her son-in-law Bill Headington; her nephews, Rodney Halverson, Ricky Halverson, Scott Halverson and David Thompson; and her niece Roxanne Ingle.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church (604 W Broadway St, Decorah, IA 52101). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
