It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Leidahl (Decorah, Iowa), who passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Leidahl and Florence Leidahl; his parents-in-law, Laurence and Darleen Caskey; his brothers, Gordon Jr. and Nathan Leidahl; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Marsh, Dale Caskey and Sue Caskey.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Caskey of Sioux Rapids; his children, Chris Leidahl (Carol) of Hagerstown, MD and Lisa Vsetecka (Joe) of Fort Atkinson, IA.; his grandchildren, Eric Watts (Jamie), Hanna Kriener (Mak), Heidi Vsetecka, Josh Vsetecka (Kayla) and Lia Vsetecka; his great grandchildren, Kaislee and Teegan Kriener; his sisters, Shirley Bright (Don) of Cherokee, IA and Lois Leidahl-Marsh of Des Plaines, IL; and his sisters-in-law, Cindy Leidahl of Sacramento, CA and Carol Leidahl of Cherokee, IA..
In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made out to First United Methodist Church of Decorah, St. Jude's Children Hospital, and Buena Vista University.
