She is survived by: her spouse Kenn Nye Jr.; her daughter Carrie Courtney (Kelly); her stepson Tim Nye (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Blake Holthaus (Gina), Brooks Courtney, Lydia Nye, Eliza Nye and Mitchell Nye; her great grandchildren, Landon Holthaus and Parker Holthaus; and her siblings, Kathy Chapman (Warren), Jane Forbes and Steve Bowstead. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Helms Funeral Home (306 E Water St, Decorah, IA 52101).
