Karen Louise Tjostem Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Louise Tjostem of Decorah, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 22, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Voxland and Melvin Voxland; her son David (Kathy); her husband John Tjostem; and her brother-in-law Ed Christopherson.

She is survived by: her brother Phillip Voxland; her children, Ann (Jim Kephart) and Paul Tjostem (Anne Collingwood); her daughter-in-law Kathy Dobney; her great grandchildren, Allison, Andrew Tjossem, Iver, Sigrid, Soren, Peter, Alice Kephart, Lola, Linnea, Dylan Henning-Leander, Ellis, Gracie Kephart, Kaitlin Tjostem, Patrick Johnson, Kasia, John Syverud, Sean Collingwood, Logan, Madison Collingwood and Joey Collingwood; her sister-in-law Sylvia Christopherson; her nephew Mark (Kay Christopherson); and her niece Sara (Jay Schuler).
