He was predeceased by: his father George Hackman; his father-in-law Floyd Herold; and his brother-in-law Gary Herold. He is survived by: his mother Mary Ann Hackman (Sabelka); his wife Bonnie Herold; his children, Stephanie Martin (Mason) of Decorah, IA and John Hackman (Katie) of Waukon, IA; his grandchildren, Noah, Brady, Jace, Kyler Hackman, Branson, Jack and Krew Martin; his mother-in-law Connie Herold; his sisters, Michele Hoppes (Vern), Wendy Andera (Paul) and Lori Galligan (David); and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Herold (Kay) and Wendy Roney (Daryl). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
