Richard Amundson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Amundson of Decorah, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 5, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Babs); his children, Kari Schmidt (Robert Schmidt), Brian Amundson (Maura Amundson) and Erika Panichelli (David Panichelli); his grandchildren, Sydney Schmidt, Jack Panichelli, Cole Schmidt, William Panichelli, Maeve Amundson and Nolan Amundson; and his sister Dori Ritland.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly accepts a donation to one of the following organizations that meant a great deal to Rich: Downtown Decorah Betterment Association, First Lutheran Church Trust Fund or Luther College Richard & Barbara Amundson Scholarship.
