She was predeceased by: her parents, Marinus Mihm and Margaret Mihm (Mitchell); her sisters, Jacque Cayton (Mihm) and Jolene (Bill Galligan); her parents-in-law, Glen and Delores Thornton; and her sister-in-law Linda Osterhoudt.
She is survived by: her husband Al Thornton (Al) of Decorah, Iowa; her children, Adam Thornton (Lana) of Decorah, Breydon Johnson, Andrew, Corbin, Lucas Thornton (Sami) of Decorah and Taisha Douglas (Tanner) of Windsor; her siblings, Gary Mihm (Janice) of West Union, Bill Mihm of St. Lucas, Iowa and Deb Pesek (Steve) of New Hampton, Iowa; and her siblings-in-law, Jim Cayton (Kris), Larry Thornton (Lorris) of Shakopee, Oz Osterhoudt (Vicky) of Fairbault, Minnesota, Lori Vetter of Grimes, IA, Denise Ziech (Leonard) of Merrill and Jenny Thornton of Decorah, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family to help fulfill Tammy's final wish: bringing a Christmas light display to life in Phelps Park—a project already in progress and close to her heart.
