He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvan Bissen and Virginia Bissen (Jacobs); and his sister Michelle Klabunde. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Bissen of Defiance; his children, Ronda Bissen (Chad Anthony) of Harlan, Tina Holdsworth (Travis) of Denison, Chad Bissen (Julie) of Honey Creek and Travis Bissen (Vicki) of Defiance; and his siblings, Ted Bissen (Sharon) of Omaha, Tom Bissen (Maggie) of Defiance, Jim Bissen (Donda) of Buckeye, Martha Fawcett of Omaha, Dianne Goeres of Defiance and Janet Bruck (John) of Portsmouth. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St. Peter's Parish Center (402 5th St, Defiance, IA 51527).
