Though Joan may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Hensen and Verna Marie Hensen (Helkenn); her husband Howard Heneke; her brother Virgil Hensen; and her children, Rhonda Sunderland and Roger Heneke.
She is survived by: her sisters, Joyce Brus (Jim) of Bennett, IA and Jolene Whyte of Davenport, IA; and her son-in-law Ed Sunderland. She is also survived by 6 nieces, 1 nephew; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church, Camp Courageous of Iowa, or the Delmar Evergreen Cemetery Association.
