She was predeceased by : her parents, Carol Vennink and Genevieve Vennink (Miller); her daughter Keli DeMey; her brother Dean Vennink; and her brother-in-law Phil Sauvago.

She is survived by : her nephew Devin Moorman; her husband Donald DeMey of Denison; her son Ryan DeMey (Tabitha); her grandchildren, Jacob of Newell and Macy of Newell; her daughter Traci (Chad Preul); her grandson Oliver of Dow City; her siblings, Darlys (Craig Whited) of Florida, Diann (Kevin Moorman) of Georgia, Dana Vennink (Staci) of South Carolina and Danette Vennink of Carroll; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Sauvago of Denison and Sandy (Kraig Kitt) of Denison. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She had a deep love for animals which was evident in her life choices even after her passing as her family generously donated her Pacemaker to the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
