He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Kelbl and Theresa Kelbl (Midlock); his sisters, Louise and Jeanne Patterson; and his nephew Paul Patterson.
He is survived by: his great-nieces and great-nephews, Luke Patterson (Eva) of Carroll, Sarah Bruening (Ryan) of Carroll, Jessica Irving (Nick) of Carroll, Shane Patterson (Mallory) of Carroll, Moriah Patterson (Ethan Wittrock) of Arcadia, Hannah Patterson (Freddy X.) of Carroll and Phyllis Lorenzen of Denison; and also Doris Patterson.
After retiring, George devoted himself to caring for Kitty following her diagnosis of Alzheimer's, and he remained by her side until her passing ten years later.
