She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Petersen and Rose Petersen; and her siblings, Eugene, Irene, Frances, Carol, Verda, Mary, Norma, James, Carl, Clemen, Timothy and Linda.

She is survived by: her husband Richard D. Petersen of Harlan, IA; and her children, Mark Petersen (Deb) of Harlan, IA, Brian Petersen of Harlan, IA, Tami Goetz (Dan) of Cedar Falls, IA and Jeffery Petersen (Cyndi) of Harlan, IA. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed to the Kirkman United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Association.
