She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Francis and Marie Vernon; her daughter Mary Jenkins; her siblings, Edward, Mary and Patricia; and her daughter-in-law Sue Ellen Meidlinger.

She is survived by: her brother James Vernon (Mary Teresa) of Sun Lakes, Arizona; her children, Steven Meidlinger (Terese) of Denver, Colorado, John Meidlinger (Jane) of Iowa City, Joseph Meidlinger (Kathy) of Iowa City, Mark Meidlinger (Bev) of Lochbuie, Colorado, Peter Meidlinger (Hue Ping Chin) of Springfield, Missouri, Susan Meidlinger (Clark Fry) of Omaha and Theresa Bruns (Jay Bruns) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her son-in-law John Jenkins of Omaha. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
