He is survived by: his mother Louvine Pottebaum (Hoffman) of Carroll; his girlfriend Harriet Reandeau of Denison; his stepdaughter Shauntee Winey (Boe) of Defiance; his grandchildren, Zander, Zerik and Zayda; and his siblings, Kathy Olmstead (Doug) of Granger, Dr. Jim Pottebaum (Cindy) of Winterset and Dave Pottebaum (Jennifer) of Carroll. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts and uncles; extended family members; and friends.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (916 2nd Ave S, Denison, IA 51442). Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at 421 Bluff St E, Carroll, IA 51401.
