He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Kastner and Rose Kastner (Schug); his son-in-law Tom Hibbing; his brother Rawlo; and his siblings-in-law, Rubie Kastner and Melvin Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Marlyn Kastner of Denison; his children, Vanessa Zimmer (Duane) of Ankeny, Valerie Johnson (Robert) of Chandler, AZ and Mark Kastner of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Aric Zimmer (Keri) of Underwood, Ben Hibbing (Brittney) of Mesa, AZ, Nicholas Zimmer (Brooke) of Ankeny and Jeff Hibbing (Jeena) of Gilbert, AZ; his stepgranddaughters, Lisa Eberle (Todd) of Temecula, CA and Kristen Hoferman (Keith) of Norwalk; and his sister-in-law Jeanine Baker (Ken Christensen). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the United Church of Christ (409 Maple Ave, Schleswig, IA 51461). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
