With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Blanchard (Denmark, Iowa), who passed away on January 19, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Blanchard and Edna Blanchard (Lange); his siblings, Nettie Sorensen and Herbert "Doc" Blanchard; and his grandson Neil Blanchard.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Blanchard; his children, Dean Blanchard (Kathy) of West Point, Iowa, Craig Blanchard (Cathy) of Charles City, Iowa, Jay Blanchard (Sherry) of Wever, Iowa, Cindy Barnes (Dwight) of Montrose, Iowa and Peggy Steffensmeier (Pat) of West Point; his sister Roberta Stout (Jack); and his siblings-in-law, Lois Blanchard, Jack Knustrom and Don Knustrom (Karen). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ, Denmark Ball Association, or the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
