He was predeceased by: his grandfather Ong; his wife Hien Pham Bui; his parents, Tep Thi Pham and Toai Van Bui; his brother Cuom Bui; his daughter Lien Thi Bich Nguyen; and his children-in-law, Thong "Tom" Nguyen and Brenda Langstraat Bui.
He is survived by: his children, Chap Bui (Hoang), Phuoc Bui (Dung), Lanh Bui (Khoa), Le Nguyen, Dai Bui (Theu), Joe Bui, Ngoc Nguyen (Sang) and Tuan Nguyen. He is also survived by his family grow to 29 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
