She was predeceased by: her parents, George Mitchell and Alberta Mitchell; her husband Denzel "Sonny"; her daughter Linda Fisher; her granddaughter Traci Fisher; and her sister Dorothy Knight.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Shelton and Rick Vertz (Ellen); and her grandchildren, Vanessa Grant (Joe), Josh Shelton (Jonell), Angela Housley (John) and Jeremy Vertz (Kashmire). She is also survived by ten great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, or an organization of the donors' choice.
