With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty H. Smith (Des Moines, Iowa), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Betty left this world on June 11, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harlan Gallagher and Veda Gallagher; her husbands, Jerry Lyons and Richard Smith; her son Jerry Lyons, Jr.; and her son-in-law LeRoy Williams.
She is survived by: her daughter Julie Williams; her daughter-in-law Norien Lyons; her brother Michael Gallagher; and her grandchildren, Steffani Lyons, Christopher Lyons, Tiffani Morrill (Jerry), Jayme Williams (Jamee) and Molly Williams (Miles). She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hamilton's Funeral Home (605 Lyon St, Des Moines, IA 50309). A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
