She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Lee and Phyllis Lee (Reynolds). She is survived by: her husband Gary Peterson; her children, Jim Peterson (Nicole), Tabitha Peterson and Mark Peterson (Madison); her grandchildren, William Peterson, Iris Peterson and Isabelle Peterson; her brother Kenneth Lee; her niece Medakarla Lee; and her nephew Jesse Lee.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the family to donate to the U of I Stead Children's Hospital in loving memory of Betty Peterson.
