She was predeceased by : her parents, William LaFavor and Mary LaFavor (Haugh); her husband Dennis Ruth; her son Daniel James Gilbert; her grandson Ricky D. J. Ashby; her sisters, Sharon Ruth, Sandy Medina, Berna Jones and Linda Schiffer; and her half-brother William LaFavor.

She is survived by : her children, Jennifer Gilbert and Lance Ruth; her grandson Nathan Daniel Hopkins; and her sisters, Loraine Myers (James), Frances Skoog and Sharol Griffin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving family, and friends.
