With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carole Spurling (Des Moines, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 11, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Andrew Swacker Sr. and Opal Irene Gott Swacker; her brothers, Richard Swacker, Howard Swacker and Robert Swacker Jr.; her siblings-in-law, June Swacker and Dale Kellis; and her grandson Brady McFarland.
She is survived by: her sister Linda Kellis; her children, Stacy Johnson (Scott Johnson), Anji Hayek (Scott Hayek) and Doug Spurling (Stephanie Vogel Spurling); her grandchildren, Annika Johnson, Channing Johnson, Derek Johnson, Ashley Hayek (Brandon Lafferty), Heather McNeeley (Bill McNeeley), Zach Schreck (Delaney Kyriss), Emaleigh Barber (Blaine Barber), Grant Carter (Tiffany Flohr) and Olivia Spurling; and her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Braedyn, Ezra, Charlie and Sawyer. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
