With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Craig D. McDowell of Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on January 6, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. McDowell and Janice McDowell (Challands); and his brother Dennis. He is survived by: his brother David McDowell (Christine) of Ogden; his niece Mackenzie Peterson (Justin); his great-nephews, Emmett and Rhett; his nephew Garrett McDowell (Katie Peterson) of Boone; and his aunts, Sharon Laub of Rippey, Virginia Wernli of Norwalk and Mary Jane McDowell of Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
